    More Information:

Inventor, entrepreneur, and scientist Thomas Edison (1847-1931) established the Edison Botanic Research Corporation to produce rubber following World War I. Harvey Firestone and Henry Ford took an interest in Edison's work, but by the time of Edison's death in 1931, he still hadn't developed a domestic rubber source. The check is also signed by Edison's brother-in-law and business associate, John V. Miller ("J. Miller"). Beginning in 1921, Miller served as one of Edison's personal secretaries.
