Theodore Roosevelt: Typed Letter Signed. 1 p. TLS, February 3, 1915, written on 6.5" x 7.5" personal stationery. The former President writes to Mrs. Edward F. Stevens of Massachusetts, advising her on sending a boy to a ranch. "I would not send a weak boy to a ranch. The ranch life is very hard. But I should think that the young lad of whom you speak would do very well at the Mesa School... One of my boys was there; and I felt it was invaluable for him." Some ghosting or offset from contact with another piece of Correspondance, not affecting the signature. TR, a sickly child himself, spent some of his youth doing ranch work in Montana. From the Estate of Malcolm S. Forbes.
