    Description

    Susan B. Anthony Typed Letter Signed "Susan B. Anthony". One page, on National American Woman Suffrage Association letterhead, 8.5" x 11", Rochester, New York, March 31, 1904, to Mr. E. M. Tomlinson, Alfred, New York, with the original transmittal envelope. Ms. Anthony offers to send Mr. Tomlinson an index to supplement the one found in the book The Life and Work of Susan B. Anthony by Ida Husted Harper. She writes in part: "If you possess a copy of the 'Life and Work of Susan B. Anthony', I shall take pleasure in sending you a new and complete index of subjects for the same. - the one in the book is of names only - ". Accompanying the letter is the publisher's announcement for the book, 10.5" x 7", with portraits of both the author, Ms. Harper and Ms Anthony, giving full details of the upcoming book, including prices. Both letter and publisher's announcement are in very good condition. From the Judith Kaplan Women's History Collection.
