An outstanding selection dating from the 1920s - 1940s, all obtained by a single collector who wrote away to obtain most of them himself. Highlights include: Louis Brandeis, bold signature cut from the bottom of the letter; Charles Evans Hughes, two fine 8"x10" studio photos boldly signed at bottom (one inscribed), the former in Supreme Court Robes; large signed studio photo of Robert Jackson, Frank Murphy, Stanley Reed, and Harold Burton; William O. Douglas TLS; Pierce Butler ALS; Charles E. Hughes TLS; Benjamin Cardozo ANS; Earl Warren TLS (as California governor). Other items included: Harold Burton TLS; Fred Vinson TLS; Wiley Ruttledge on Supreme Court card; Hugo Black TLS (3); Hugo Black on Supreme Court cards (2); JC McReynolds ANS; Pierce Butler on Supreme Ct. Card; Owen Roberts on Supreme Court cards (2); Willis Van Deventor (2), on his calling cards as justice; Charles E, Hughes on cards (2). Total 28 pieces. Generally Very Fine or Better condition, most have original official mailing envelopes. A fine starter collection or dealer's lot. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
