Stephen F. Austin Signed Texian Loan. "S.F. Austin". One page, 8.5" x 10.5", January 11, 1836, New Orleans. This is a loan, printed by Benjamin Levy, issued to Robert Triplett less than three months before Texas declared its independence as a Republic, and recognizing his first payment of thirty-two dollars, of a total of three hundred and twenty. Signed in ink by the Father of Texas above early Texan colonists William H. Wharton and B.T. Archer. A fantastic piece, with prominent signatures inside an ornate border that includes the printed words, "Government of Texas".

Condition: Fragile, on thin paper with even toning. Slight bleeding of the signatures, with a one inch triangle of loss at the document's top-center. Two smoothed folds, with slight separation at the left edge of the bottom fold.
