    William H Seward Autograph Letters Signed. 1). One page, 5" x 8", Department of State, Washington, December 27, 1861. In full: " Dear Sir, I have received your note of the 23rd, and the accompanying pamphlet, and thank you for the communication. No objection to it's publicity is entertained here. faithfully yours, William H. Seward." together with 2). LS, Washington, February 15, 1850 acknowledging a courtesy signed and sealed with Seward's bold black "mourning" seal. No relation to Seward's involvement in the Compromise of 1850, but a nice autograph from that fateful year. 3). Partly Printed Document Signed, as governor of New York appointing Stillwell Smith a Captain in the Army. Fine condition. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.
