    Description

    Warren E. Burger's Cue Card Used During Ronald Reagan's Swearing In Ceremony as President. Together With an Oversized Photograph of the Event Signed by Burger. The cue card, measuring 6.5" x 4.5", reads: "JANUARY 20, 1981 / I, RONALD REAGAN, DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR THAT I WILL FAITHFULLY EXECUTE THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND WILL TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY, PRESERVE, PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES SO HELP ME GOD." Burger has written at top: "Cue me in case I 'goof off' / Dad / Warren E. Burger."

    The cue card is paired with a color photograph of Reagan, with Nancy at his side, being sworn in by Burger on the West Front of the Capitol. The photograph, 11" x 14", is matted with a patriotic color motif to an overall size of 16" x 20". Obtained directly from the Burger family. Burger signs on the mat, beneath the image. Light foxing in a few areas of the mat, and two small stains. Obtained directly from the Burger family.
