    Timothy Pickering Document Signed as Secretary of War Listing Invalid Soldiers Who Served in the Revolutionary War. Two pages with blank integral, 7.75"x 12.75", n.p., September 5, 1794. Being a "List of Invalid pensioners belonging to the State of Delaware with the monthly allowance and the amount for six months, commencing the fifth of September 1794, and ending the fourth of March 1795, inclusively." The document directs James Stilton, Commissioner of Loans for the State of Delaware, to "Pay out of the Funds furnished you by the Secretary of the Treasury the sum of eight hundred and thirty four dollars to the aforementioned Invalid Pensioners of the United States..." Signed, "Timothy Pickering, Secy of War." Lightly toned with occasional stains and small bits of paper loss at margin folds. Mounting traces on verso. Included are the names of twenty-seven soldiers,with their rank, who served during the Revolutionary War (History of Delaware: 1609-1888, Vol. 1, by John Thomas Scharf).
