    Timothy Pickering Autograph Letter Signed, "Timothy Pickering." One page, with integral address sheet, 7.75" x 9.75", Washington; February 12, 1814. Letter from former secretary of state and secretary of war Pickering (1745-1829), as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts, to former secretary of war James McHenry (1753-1816), Baltimore, Maryland, acknowledging a gift of a pamphlet and expresses his happiness to know McHenry's recent attack of paralysis of his legs has not restricted "the mental enjoyments which are the companions of virtue & piety."

    Condition: Letter has the usual folds; some staining, plus paper loss where the wax seal was broken; otherwise good.
