Also signed by James Trimble and affixed with the embossed Seal of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Boldly signed and accompanied by an engraving of Mifflin.
The John Nicholson mentioned in the grant is the same John Nicholson who was sent to debtor's prison as aresult of a land deal with Robert Morris. Nicholson died in prison and Morris was released through Thomas Jefferson's bankruptcy laws, the first in the country.
