Black writes to Norman Cousins, editor of the Saturday Review of Literature thanking him for the advanced copy of John F. Wharton's article. Wharton's article "The Anatomy of Cooperation," was published on October 26, 1946, and discussed the state of social, political and economic organizations following the Second World War. Accompanied by an 8" x 10" black and white photograph of Black inscribed: "To my tennis partner, Norman Cousins, with warm regards - Hugo L Black."
