    Description

    Samuel Huntington Autograph Document Signed Four Times. Two pages, 7.5" x 5.25", Norwich, Connecticut, May 13, 1771[?]. Huntington (1731-1796), a signer of the Declaration of Independence and Articles of Confederation, placed his signature to a note whereby Jonas Brown promises "to pay unto Dolly Noyes . . . Twenty five pounds three Shillings and Eight pence lawfull money on demand with lawfull Interest until paid." In addition to the signature on the recto, the verso bears three additional signatures from dockets acknowledging monies received from Brown dated February 1772, January 1774, and June 1774.

    Condition: Separation of the horizontal fold has been repaired on the verso with archival tissue. Chipping in places at the edges and minor paper loss to the upper right and lower left corners. Unevenly toned.
