Sam Houston Discharge Document Signed in 1836 as Commander in Chief of the Texas Army. One page, 7.5" x 5", manuscript, San Augustine, Texas, June 15, 1836. In full: "This is to certify that Wm. B. Burditt joined my Volunteer Company on the 15th of March last since which time he has discharged his duty faithfully to his Country & honorably to himself & is this day honorably discharged." It is written and signed by William Kimbro, captain of the San Augustine Company. The document is elaborately triple matted with a period engraving and framed to an overall size of 17.5" x 30.5". The frame is somewhat damaged but could be easily replaced. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
