DescriptionRufus King Autograph Letter Signed "R. King". One page, 8" x 9.75", May 13, 1800, to Samuel Sitgreaves. King, previously a delegate from Massachusetts to the Continental Congress and one of the signers of the Constitution, writes to Sitgreave concerning currency regulations limiting the amount of money travelers can take out of the country. The letter has the usual fold creases and the verso is a bit soiled, otherwise it is a bright, legible letter in near fine condition.
He writes, in part: "Enclosed I send you a note to Mr. Flint, which you may send by Gill, with a note in your own name to Mr. Flint saying that you will call the next day for his answer, as well as to make enquiries concerning the Regulations which limit the sum of money that travelers are permitted to take out of the country."
