President Andrew Jackson's Administration Small archive of letters, three with excellent content, and signatures by various individuals who served during Jackson's presidential term.

    Samuel L. Gouverneur,
ALS, 2 pages, Washington, Sep. 20, 1832, to Francis P. Blair, Editor of the Globe, regarding a statement printed in the paper about the Seminole War. In part: "I had the honor of addressing you, respecting a remark which had appeared in your paper of the 9th preceding, in the following words -- 'In conducting the Seminole War, Gen. Jackson was in fact acting under the secret orders of the Government.'" Usual mail folds and light soiling with a small tear at integral sheet fold affecting a single word.

    Samuel D. Ingham,
ALS, 2 pages, 7.75" x 10", Fenton, Feb. 7, 1853, to an unnamed recipient thanking him for a geological report and discussing in great detail the issuance of small silver coins and gold pieces. Great content!

Lot also includes: Amos Kendall (LS); John H. Eaton (ALS); W.T. Barry (DS); Edward Livingston (DS, also signed by Edward Henry Livingston); Hugh L. White (signature); and Mahlon Dickerson (ALS with great genealogical content on his family). Overall condition is very good to near fine. From the collection of Henry E. Luhrs.
