    Oliver Wolcott and Samuel Huntington Signed Debenture of the Upper House. One page, 8" x 12.25" (width varies), Hartford, July, 1775. This document, titled "Debenture for the Council at the Gen. Assembly holden at Hartford by Special order of his Honor the Gov.," contains the list of members and the amounts due them for their services to a total of £21:6:8. Signed by two signers of the Declaration of Independence, Oliver Wolcott, who, due to illness, signed the Declaration at a later date, and Samuel Huntington, who also signed the Articles of Confederation and was president of the Continental Congress from 1779 until 1781. Also signed by Jabez Hamlin, Elisha Sheldon, Jabez Huntington, William Pithin, Abraham Davenport, William Samuel Johnson, a delegate of the Constitutional Convention, and George Wyllys. Few foxing spots and ink bleed through from verso. Light toning.

    With two engraved portraits: the first, 6.75" x 10.25", of Oliver Wolcott with facsimile signature, and the second, 6.5" x 9.5", of Samuel Huntington in profile.
