    Large Archive of Thirty-Three Letters From Presidential Campaign "Also-Rans", Circa 1826-1994.

    A large lot of thirty-three letters from Presidential hopefuls that failed in their attempt to reach the Oval Office, with varying content, size and format. All letters bear the usual fold creases and are in very good or better condition unless otherwise noted. Included are: (1) Dewitt Clinton ALS "Dewitt Clinton", one page, June 24, 1826, with a lock of hair, foxed and toned. (2) Horace Greeley ALS "Horace Greeley", one page, January 3, 1849, mounting remnants along one edge. (3) John Bell ALS "Jno. Bell", one page, April 7, 1852. (4) Lewis Cass LS "Lewis Cass", one page, September 15, 1859. (5) John C. Frémont ALS "J. C. Frémont", one page, April 4, 1864. (6) Samuel J. Tilden ALS "S. J. Tilden", one page, March 8, 1867. (7) Horatio Seymour LS "Horatio Seymour", one page March 16, 1882. (8) Samuel J. Tilden ALS "S. J. Tilden", two pages, January 5, 1885. (9) James G. Blaine TLS (marked duplicate) "James G.
