Hall", two pages, 7" x 10", [Washington], Mary 28, 1852, a letter with instructions for mail carriers to receive compensation on a quarterly basis, tones at the edges with one small closed tear, else very good condition; 2) Secretary of the Interior Alexander H. H. Stewart Autograph Letter Signed "Alex H. H. Stewart", one page, 4" x 6.75", [Washington], February 2, 1852, a letter recommendation for employment, fine condition; 3) Secretary of State Edward Everett Letter Signed "Edward Everett", one page, 7.5" x 10", Washington, February 19, 1853, to Mrs. Emily Whitney, Baltimore, the Secretary of State informs Mrs. Whitney that the U.S. consul position in Halifax has been filled; 4) Secretary of the Treasury Thomas Corwin Autograph Letter Signed "Tho Corwin", one page, 7.75" x 9.25", [Washington], February 6, 1852, to Joseph T. Nye, Saco, Maine, Corwin informs Nye of the appointment of a temporary weight and measurer for Saco, Maine, with the usual fold creases, else fine; 5) Secretary of War Charles M. Conrad Autograph Letter Signed "C. M. Conrad", one page, 7.75" x 10", Washington, July 29, 1851, Conrad informs the Paymaster General that no person appointed paymaster or military storekeeper can draw pay until bond completed and approved by the Secretary of War, with the usual folds, else very good condition; 6) Secretary of the Navy William A. Graham Document Signed "Will. A. Graham", one page, 7.75" x 10", [Washington], September 24, 1850, the secretary points out a discrepancy in the names of recruits transferred to Norfolk, the letter is toned along the edges and has the usual fold creases but is in otherwise very good condition.
