Joseph P. Kennedy 1940 Typed Letter Signed "Joe Kennedy", one page on personal letterhead, dated January 1, 1940, Palm Beach, Florida, 7.25" x 10.5" in size. Joseph Patrick Kennedy, father of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy and Edward M. Kennedy, was U.S. ambassador to Great Britain during this period. Kennedy writes to Eddie Mannix, vice president and general manager of MGM Studios, thanking him for a Christmas message and sending him New Year's wishes. In part, "Mrs. Kennedy and I are deeply appreciative of your thoughtful Christmas wire... I only hope that you are taking good physical care of yourself because it is going to need you at your best to cope with the industry's problems." Earlier in his career, Kennedy had been involved in motion picture distribution. Eddie Mannix is rumored by some to have been involved in the death of "Superman" star George Reeves. Reeves had been involved with Eddie's wife, Toni, for several years and his shooting death was under somewhat mysterious circumstances. This letter is in fine condition with original mailing folds. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
