    John Jay Document Signed. Four pages and docketed on the verso, 21.5" x 15", Albany, New York, March 28, 1800. The document is an Exemplification of Letters Patent for a grant of land in Albany County, New York, issued by King George III to Thomas Roberts, John Jones, Henry Greenold, Barne Coyne, John Nevlt, Patrick Higgins, Charles Herbert, John Betts, and Thomas Markin formerly of the Sixty-fourth Regiment of Foot; Thomas Turner and Thomas Honeyman formerly of the Fifty-fifth Regiment of Foot; and, William Clarke, formerly of the Sixty-first Regiment of Foot in 1771, for their service in the French and Indian War. The document retains the original wax seal from the state of New York bearing the date 1798. The seal is affixed with a blue silk ribbon. Jay's signature as governor of New York is clear and bold. Minor weakness at the folds.
