    John Jay Document Signed, "John Jay." One sheet (missing seal), 15.5" x 8.5", Albany, New York; February 24, 1798. Appointment of Daniel Kissam as Coroner of the County of Queens, New York, signed by John Jay (1749-1829), as Governor of New York (1795-1801). In addition to serving as governor of New York, Jay also served as the first Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court as well as one of the authors of The Federalist Papers.

    Condition: The document has horizontal and vertical folds and slight foxing; otherwise good.
