DescriptionJohn Hart, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, Document Signed "John Hart". One page, 7.25" x 12", Perth Amboy, New Jersey, April 27, 1768, with the usual fold creases, slight staining at the upper right edged not affecting text, old repair to a horizontal crease on the verso, else with a bright, bold signature.
An accounting of money received from various gentlemen with the note "Mr Fisher says there is a Sum of money yet outstanding for goods sold belonging to the Barracks." At the time Hart signed this document he was a member of the New Jersey Colonial Assembly. Eight years later, as a delegate to the Second Continental Congress, he would be a signatory to the Declaration of Independence.
