DescriptionJohn C. Calhoun Signed American Revolution Pension Claim. One page of a bifolium, 8" x 10", June 6, 1820, certifying that "Bazaleel Moffitt late a Private in the Army of the Revolution" is entitled to a pension "at the rate of eight dollars per month." With a blind embossed seal. On verso are details of the payment schedule, in part: "Payable to the 4 March 1820 but thereafter no payment can be made before exhibiting a schedule of property." Signed "J C Calhoun" as Secretary of War.
Condition: Flattened horizontal folds, lightly toned throughout. Mounting remnants on verso.
