With a letter to Ruger from the "Engineer Department," one page, 7.75" x 975", Washington, August 23, 1854, informing him that his acceptance letter was received. Also, a one, partially printed letter, 7" x 10", Washington, August 23, 1854, for the Adjutant General's Office to Ruger regarding the delivery of his "commission of Brevet Second Lieutenant."
