DescriptionJefferson Davis Autograph Letter Signed "Jeffer. Davis" as U.S. senator from Mississippi. One page, 8" x 10", January 18, 1849, n.p., with "Com. Mil. Affairs" as header. Davis, who served as the chairman for the Committee of Military Affairs, writes this letter to "Col. Talcott/ U. S. Ordnance" asking for advice. Bold writing; near fine.
The future president of the Confederacy writes, "I enclose to you a resolution which involved a question of policy. . . . [I] would be pleased to have your advice before taking any action upon it. In a commendation held before the resolution was presented I stated the objection to opening ordinance accts with other than state authorities." Talcott was court-martialed from the army two years after this letter was written.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
HA.com receives more traffic than any other auction house website. (Source: Similarweb.com)
