    Description

    Henry Dearborn Letter Signed as Secretary of War. One page, 8" x 9.5", War Department; November 15, 1802. Addressed to a William Linnard while Dearborn was serving as Thomas Jefferson's Secretary of War. It reads in full: "your favor of the 11th inst has been duly recd. I have directed the Treasurer of the United States to transmit you four thousand dollars on account of your Agency." Signed, "H. Dearborn."

    Condition: Two areas of soiling. Two .25" closed tears. Lightly toned from age. Smoothed folds.
