    Hannibal Hamlin Autograph Letter Signed "H. Hamlin." One page with integral blank page, 4.5" x 7", Washington, December 10, 1860, to Jesse P. Eddy, in full: "Your note of the 8th inst. is received." Hamlin (1809-1891) was a U. S. senator and vice president elect in 1860. The election of Lincoln and Hamlin sparked the secession of the Southern States and the opening of the Civil War. Lightly toned; integral page torn at the folds.
