    Group of Autographs by Members of James Madison's Administration Includes: Robert Smith (ALS transmitting the "specimens of the autograph of Mr. Jefferson, of Mr. John Adams, and of Mr John Quinsey [sic] Adams. The various letters received from these and other gentlemen, not being intended for the publick [sic] eye..."); William Pinkney (ALS); Richard Rush (LS); William Eustis (DS); William Jones (LS and address leaf with FF dated April 5, 1814, regarding "a remittance of Five hundred dollars, for the payment of Privateer pensions"); George W. Campbell (good content LS as Treasurer dated June 9, 1814, regarding repair of a public road); William H. Crawford (LS); Louis Cheves (DS and signature); a printed circular, a resolution of the Pennsylvania Legislature reducing the terms of "service of the Senators in Congress from six years to four years"); and Joseph B. Varnum (DS). Total of twelve items, most in very good condition, with some having mounting remnants on verso. From the collection of Henry E. Luhrs.
