Boudinot (1740-1821), president of the Continental Congress from November 1782 until November 1783 and a member of the U.S. House of Representatives until March 1795, signs five times to this document appointing Elisha Boudinot to represent himself, Lewis Pitard, and Catharine Stockton, both of whom have countersigned, at a meeting of the Society for Establishing Useful Manufactures. Smoothed folds. Moderately toned along the edges.
The month after he signed this document, Boudinot was appointed by President George Washington to head the U.S. Mint, a position he would hold for ten years.
