    Declaration Signer Oliver Wolcott Docket Signed "Oliver Wolcott Sherrif." One small slip cut from a larger document, 4.25" x 3", Litchfield; April 30, 1757. The docket reads, "I Do hereby authorize Mr. Peter Dewolf the wedge of Land of lawfully to serve and Return 9th within writ." Mounted on card stock, and measuring 4.5" x 3.25" overall. Boldly signed by Wolcott.

    Oliver Wolcott was signer of the Declaration of Independence, but due to illness, he signed the Declaration at a later date. Wolcott succeeded Alexander Hamilton as Secretary of Treasury and later became first Governor of Connecticut under the Constitution.

    Condition: Lightly toned at edges, small spots of soiling, uneven edges. Mounted on card stock.
