DescriptionDeclaration of Independence Signer Francis Hopkinson Document Signed "F. Hopkinson." One page, 8.25" x 4", partially printed and completed in manuscript, New Hampshire, June 12, 1780.
Hopkinson signs a United States sight draft (bill of exchange) in his capacity as Treasurer of Loans payable to Elias Hasket, a wealthy merchant and ship owner from Salem, Massachusetts. Hopkinson served as Treasurer of Loans from July, 1778 to July, 1781. This is a superb association of these two very important and influential American men. The document is tipped-on a larger backing sheet, else a fine bright Francis Hopkinson signature.
