Conrad, Provost Marshal, requesting government permission for Jonathan Mix to visit Confederate-run Virginia. In full: "Sir: The bearer Jn. Mix of this place has relatives at Fairfax that he desires to visit, and wishes a pass for that purpose. He is a loyal man. Very Respectfully, D. Wilmot". Includes envelope addressed to Conrad.
    Condition: Smoothed folds, with light toning, and light soiling due to handling.
