Daniel Webster Letter and Transmittal Envelope Signed as Secretary of State "Danl Webster". One page, 7" x 8.75", Washington, June 5, 1851, to Nathaniel Horton, Newburyport, Massachusetts. Webster politely declines an invitation to deliver an address to the "inhabitants of Newburyport". Webster has also signed the free-franked transmittal envelope in the top right corner. The letter has the usual fold creases with some trivial toning to the paper, otherwise it remains bright, legible, and with a bold signature. The envelope is likewise slightly toned, but is in otherwise excellent condition.
