    American Revolution Letter and Document Collection consisting of five items from this important period in our history. 1). 1778 Autograph Document Signed "Wm. Burrows Lt. G Q M", one page, 8" x 2.75", White Plains. In full (as written): "Recd. of Wm. Cushing of Gerall Morrisses Brigade twelve Dozen of Catrages & tweny two flints". 2). 1776 Document Signed "Samuel Delsbury", one page, 7.5" x 3.5", Newbury. To Captain [Jonathan] Poor[e] regarding "waiges that is deue to me from the provance for Sarvice in the armigh undar youreself as Capt..." 3). 1776 Autograph Letter Signed "Jos. Henderson", one page, 6.5" x 8.5", Watertown. A letter with mention of a debt, in part: "...Excuse hurry. being upon the Road with Mrs. Henderson & the children for Weston who are Perfectly Recoverd of the Small Pox..." 4). 1776 Autograph Document Signed "Rich Devens", one page, 8.5" x 2.5", Watertown. In full: "These certifye that Leiut. Jame W Huse has returned one fire lock into the Colony Store which belong'd to the Colony. From Col Littles Rigament" 5). The last item is a great 1779 two page ALS of Lewis Morgan, a Revolutionary War colonel, governor and chief justice of New York. This fine war letter covers personal and political affairs, in part: "...Permit me to congratulate you on the Conduct of Spain. The combined Fleets I think must prove too hard for Old England- What do you suppose to be the Intentions of General Clinton? Emboldened by his late Reinforcement, will he determine to hazard a Battle this Campaign? If you think he will, let me know where he will form his camp. Jersey seems to be best calculated for his purpose..." Generally very good condition with expected folds and minor wear. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.
