One page, 18" x 19", four columns, with heading, "An Account of Expenses charged on the Civil List Funds in the State of Connecticut from the 1st Day of May to 1st [sic] 1787 to the 1st Day of May 1788." Toned; fine.

    This is an extensive list of the early diverse expenses of the fifth state to ratify the U.S. Constitution on January 9, 1788. Some of the expenses include salaries for congressional delegates, convention delegates, and government positions (such as governor and deputy governor); "Transportation of Vagrants"; "Intertainment of the Ministers appointed to preach the Election Sermon"; "Charges of Supporting Poor Persons not Inhabitants in any Town in this State"; and "killing Wolves".
