    [Galveston] License to Carry on the Coasting Trade for One Year No. 11 District of Galveston Port of Galveston. Tall folio, 10.75" x 17.5", Galveston, September 9, 1843, large lone star at top, embossed yellow seal. Printed at the Telegraph Office, circa 1843. Signed by J. G. Burnham, Deputy Port Collector for the District of Galveston. John Makeig, master of the 5-ton sloop Picayune, is granted the right "to be employed in carrying on the coasting trade for one year." A few spots of foxing and creases at folds, otherwise in near fine condition.
