    [Faneuil Hall]. Josiah Quincy, III, Imprint Signed and Inscribed: City of Boston. The Committee of both branches of the City Council, on the Extension of Faneuil Hall Market, having executed the great work assigned them by that body, ask leave, respectfully, to make their final REPORT. [(Boston, 1826)] 38pp. 5.75" x 9.5", page 38 mis-numbered as 34. String bound. This copy was presented to the future Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives "Samuel H. Walley Esq. with the respects of Josiah Quincy." Rare. We can source no extant copies of this imprint selling at auction and only two institutional copies. (OCLC 36284584). Moderate toning and some chipping to margins, else very good.

    More Information:

    Samuel Wally (1805 - 1877) was at the time, a young student at Harvard who would go on to serve in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1840 to 1846 (and its speaker from 1844 to 1846), as well as a term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
