Description[David Crockett]. Thomas S. Saul Document Signed. One page, 7.5" x 10", Washington, May 22, 1838. A summons: "You are hereby commanded to summons Al Dade to be and appear at the next term of the county court..." Signed "Thos S. Saul". Saul arrived in Texas in 1829, and established a school in Stephen Austin's Colony. He attended the Convention of 1833, and served at the Siege of Bexar. Most notably, he was appointed administrator of David Crockett's Estate. Framed to an overall size of 16" x 23.5".
Condition: Evenly toned, with some showthrough from docket on verso.
