STS-40: Signed by all seven. Inscribed. Light soiling at top margin, minor creasing.
STS-52: Signed by all six including Charles Veach (d. 1995). Inscribed.
STS-73: Signed by all seven. Inscribed. Minor crease at top left corner.
STS-78: Signed by all seven including Charles Brady (d. 2006). Inscribed.
STS-90: Signed by all seven. Inscribed. Minor creases in top margin.
STS-93: Signed by all five. Inscribed. Soiling and light damage at top left. Crease at bottom right corner.
STS-109: Signed by all seven. Inscribed. Very light crease in top margin.
All photos are excellent except as noted.
Columbia was the first operational shuttle spacecraft. The maiden voyage was STS-1, launching on April 12, 1981 with moonwalker John Young and Robert Crippen aboard. It completed twenty-seven successful missions before disintegrating on the re-entry of its twenty-eighth (STS-107) on February 1, 2003, killing all aboard. A total of 160 persons flew on Columbia in its twenty-two years of service, flying 125 million miles and 4808 earth orbits.
