DescriptionSam Houston State of Texas Treasury Warrant Signed. 8.25" x 3.75", dated June 27, 1860, for thirty dollars, paid to the order of William Worthy for "Protection of the frontier", and "Services rendered in Ford's company". That's legendary Texas Ranger, and later Confederate commander Captain John Salmon "RIP" Ford. Signed on the verso by governor Sam Houston, this excellent piece is beautifully double-matted and framed with a portrait of the first president of the Republic of Texas to an overall 19" x 24.25", displaying Houston's signature.
Condition: Piece exhibits pen cancellation marks, with minor ink erosion, and slight staining.
