    Description

Ronald Reagan Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 8.5" x 11", on his personal letterhead, Hollywood, November 30, n.y. [envelope postmarked 1954]. Writing to Nervart Apikian, a female journalist and editor of the Post-Standard, who Reagan seems to believe is a man, addressing her twice as "Mr. Apikian," thanks her "for sending me the clippings and picture. Also to thank you for all the kind words in the clippings. You were more than generous and I'm very grateful. I got quite a kick out of the Indian story and knowing Mervyn LeRoy can believe it really happened. However I'm sure they enlarged their vocabulary after a week or so with him." With the original transmittal envelope. Folds; upper fold shows very light toning. Mervyn LeRoy (1900-1987) was an actor and director who had introduced Reagan to his wife, Nancy.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
