    Description

Robert Oppenheimer Autograph Letter Signed "Robert." One page written on the recto and verso, 5.5" x 6.5", Princeton, New Jersey, July 11, 1954, on letterhead of the Institute For Advanced Study, Office of the Director. Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist known as the father of the atomic bomb, writes this missive to his aunt, Mrs. Hedwig ("Hedwig") of Berkeley, California. This personal letter, with one central fold and accompanied by the original transmittal envelope, reads in part:

"It was good to have your little letter, with its warm and understanding words. . . . Hilde's marriage is news to us - good news, I feel sure. We are pleased with Alfred's invitation to the wedding; it would be a sweet occasion for a visit. But I am quite doubtful that we shall be able to arrange it. The children are fine. If we can, we shall take them off soon to a little vacation."

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
