    Robert Livingston Autograph Letter Signed and Engraving. One page, 7.25" x 8.75" (sight), New York, June 24, 1789, to Tobias Lear, personal secretary to George Washington, in full:

    "I pray you to present my most respectful comp.s to the president of the United States & to return him my thanks for his elegant present, which I receive with the pleasure that every mark of his attention must confer on those who have long known to estimate their value."

    Livingston (1746-1813) represented New York at the Constitutional Convention and sat on the committee that drafted the Declaration of Independence, although he was called home before he could sign it. Less than two months before writing this letter, Livingston administered the Oath of Office to the first president of the United States, George Washington. Matted and framed to an overall size of 14" x 17.5".

    With a beautiful, 6.5" x 9.5", full length, Phillibrown engraving of the Founding Father with facsimile signature. The engraving is matted to an overall size of 10" x 13".
