    Description

    Robert E. Lee War-dated Signature from the Personal Collection of Blockade Runner J. William Bushby. Signature, "R E Lee Genl" on a small slip measuring 3.25" x .5" adhered to a larger sheet, 4.5" x 2.5". Bushby has noted: "This signature was cut out of the Book kept at the war Department for officers to enter their names when waiting on the Secretary at War. It was obtained for J Wm B by Major Norris at Richmond 2nd Feby 1863 and cut out of the Book in his presence."

    Condition:
    The signature is clean and clear. Larger sheet has uneven edges at left and top.
