    Description

    Richard Howe Autograph Letter Signed and Document Signed. Richard Howe Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 7.25" x 9", Porters Lodge; May 17, 1781. In this letter sent to lawyer George Ornmaney, Howe laments that his proposals to purchase an estate have not been accepted. In full: "As I conclude my proposals of the 21 of last month have not been acceptable, and it is inconvenient for me to wait longer for an answer; I by I may not prevent the conclusion of any agreement for the sale of Newberry's depending with [o]ther candidates, having no further thoughts of becoming the purchaser of that estate." Signed, "Richard Howe."

    Richard Howe Document Signed. One page, 6" x 7.5", Island of Dominica; January 9, 1752. This document was sent by Howe requesting a survey of old equipment be conducted and reported back to him. Signed, "Richard Howe." Verso of the document appears to be the results of the survey.

    Condition: 3.25" open tear to bottom left corner of the ALS obscuring two letters of two words in the body. Smoothed creases. DS with toning and some staining. 1" closed tear to bottom crease. Document is pasted in the top right corner to thick paper.
