    Pope Gregory XV Letter Signed, circa 1622. One page, 8" x 10.75. Pope Gregory XV (1554-1623) reigned as bishop of Rome from 1621 until his death in 1623. Rarely interfering in European politics, he did offer assistance to Ferdinand II, Holy Emperor, and the Catholic League against their struggles with the Protestants during the Reformation. Smoothed folds with toned edges.
