Pierre G. T. Beauregard Autograph Note Signed "G. T. B." with a printed calling card reading, "Mr. G. Toutant Beauregard / Corps of Engineers. / U.S.A." The note (Charleston, March 10, 1863) records that the Confederate general had received a letter "from Col. Chesnut but not read. It will not be read until after the war. Col. C. says it relates to Manassas." Also included is a William L. Yancey Autograph Letter Signed (Montgomery, March 9, 1861) to J. H. Reagan introducing Henry Sanford of New York. Beauregard's note and Yancey's letter are affixed to the same page of stationery from the 1860s reading, "Quartermaster General's Office." The calling card is affixed to a separate, smaller piece of paper.

    More Information:

James Chesnut Jr., an aide-de-camp to General Beauregard at the First Battle of Manassas, was the husband of Mary Boykin Chesnut who is known for her famous diary penned during the Civil War.
