    Sir John Barrow Autograph Letter Signed; Barrow Straight and Point Barrow were Named for this Explorer and Founder of the Royal Geographic Society 1845 4 paged ALS, each page measuring 4.25" x 7.0", and written from the British Admiralty. Fine condition. Subject matter deals with history of the Royal Navy officers. Barrow (1764-1848) was a renowned English traveler who served as Governor of The Cape of Good Hope (1797) and founded the Royal Geographic Society. He was especially noted as a promoter of arctic exploration. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
