    Description

Sala De Sesiones Del Ayuntamiento De Villagran. Two pages, two sided, including integral blank, July 8, 1832. Being a record of issues addressed by the City Council of Villagran, including ensuring the public peace and discussing the prosecution of gang members. Light age toning overall; generally very fine.

More Information: In 1824, the first Constitution of Mexico created the free and sovereign State of Guanajuato, which included the small town of Villagran. Located in the fertile Bajío, Villagran's economy at the time was heavily based on agriculture and ranching, so it is surprising that the City Council found it necessary to deal with gangs and the maintenance of public safety.
