    Description

    Royal Warrant in the Reign of Queen Victoria. Dated February 24, 1840. Manuscript on linen, with gilt edges. For the appointment of Ann Higginson of Chester "to the Place of Purveyor of Confectionery to Her Majesty in Ordinary". Measures approximately 13 x 10 inches. Signed by Lord Erroll. With hand-colored Royal badge and embossed seal. Split at center seam, repaired with clear tape on verso. Creased, chipped and soiled, with some minor edge loss. Good or better. From the collection of Judith Adelman.
